Gonçalo Morais's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diogo Fernandes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Gonçalo Morais took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Diogo Fernandes to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Carneiro in the 22nd minute of play forced Valpassos FC's goalkeeper Eusébio Leão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th match minute, SC Namorados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Nunes to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Gonçalo Morais's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diogo Fernandes was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Paulo Sá's late challenge caught a Valpassos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 36th minute, Tomás Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Valpassos FC's zone, Tomás Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eusébio Leão came out of the goal and Tomás Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpected shot in the 40th minute by Gonçalo Antunes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gonçalo Morais in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Diogo Fernandes saved SC Namorados from getting behind. Tomás Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Diogo Fernandes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gonçalo Morais in the 48th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Eusébio Leão made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Tomás Carneiro sent off a good shot on target. If Gonçalo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Namorados booed when Valpassos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. When Emanuel Valente came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the SC Namorados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Valente couldn't finish the play. In the 96th match minute, SC Namorados was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristóvão Paiva to maneuver through the defense. 97 minutes into the match, SC Namorados's goal looked a bit too open when Diamantino Rocha came free, but Diogo Fernandes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. SC Namorados's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
