In the 15th match minute, Percinheira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Percinheira's Gustavo Faria got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Cristiano Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomás Maia having to interfere. The nice shot from Cristiano Araújo in the 42ndth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Tomás Maia had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Afonso Magalhães's late challenge caught a Castelaria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Afonso Magalhães helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Castelaria FC booed when Percinheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. After 46 minutes, Abel Alves mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Percinheira and the Castelaria FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abel Alves to make the kick off. The Castelaria FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Percinheira had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
