Esposende FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gouveia FC the free kick. In the 15th match minute, Esposende FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe Maia to maneuver through the defense. Filipe Maia hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. If Diogo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gil Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Pereira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Gouveia FC getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Daniel Viana hit a great ball. Afonso Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Filipe Maia in the 35th minute of play. In the 37thth minute of the game Filipe Maia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gouveia FC's Afonso Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Filipe Maia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 45th minute, Diogo Pereira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gil Marques was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Diogo Pereira to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Filipe Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Afonso Coelho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 57th minute Diogo Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esposende FC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Diogo Pereira 59 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-2. In the 62nd minute, Filipe Maia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Filipe Maia struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Afonso Coelho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esposende FC. If Álvaro Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Aleixo kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Gil Marques was a little too slow when Diogo Pereira got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 69th minute. The score was now 1-3. If Diogo Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Esposende FC's zone, Álvaro Dias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Marques came out of the goal and Álvaro Dias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Gouveia FC defense, Filipe Maia kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonso Coelho. The Gouveia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Coelho should have stopped the shot. João Neto hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Esposende FC's Cristiano Martins managed to work through Gouveia FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cristiano Martins dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Cristiano Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Coelho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristiano Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd minute, Daniel Viana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Gouveia FC defense, Cristiano Martins kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Afonso Coelho. The Gouveia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Afonso Coelho should have stopped the shot. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
