Diogo Pereira did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Paulo Ferreira 4 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute Amadeu Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Diogo Pereira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Ferreira was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Amadeu Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Afonso Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ribabelida booed when Gouveia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Amadeu Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Ribabelida getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Francisco Reis hit a great ball. Álvaro Dias who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Paulo Ferreira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Amadeu Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Afonso Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Pereira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57thth minute of the game Amadeu Marques who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gouveia FC's Afonso Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Afonso Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After having played for 68 minutes, Amadeu Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ribabelida's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeu Santos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Viana got his second yellow card in the match during the 72nd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A collision led to Gouveia FC getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Daniel Viana hit a great ball. In the 74th minute of the match Lourenço Magalhães sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Afonso Coelho skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Álvaro Dias managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gouveia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Álvaro Dias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Afonso Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeu Marques, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Amadeu Santos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Amadeu Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Coelho having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ribabelida players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gouveia FC.
