Amadeu Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Afonso Jesus in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Domingos Gonçalves saved Marcoes from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Santorum's Gonçalo Mota got a free kick in the 6th minute. Sebastião Andrade could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Jorge Lisboa made a huge save. The attack was good, but when Afonso Nascimento in the 10th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Domingos Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Pinheiro in the 13th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes Marcoes got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Leal. 19 minutes into the match, Santorum's Afonso Jesus sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Domingos Gonçalves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Sebastião Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Marcoes getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. José Paiva hit a great ball. Sebastião Andrade struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Jorge Lisboa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Marcoes. Afonso Jesus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Domingos Gonçalves having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emílio Pinheiro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Emílio Pinheiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Domingos Gonçalves was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. After 58 played minutes Marcoes got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Nascimento. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Pinheiro in the 60th minute of play forced Marcoes's goalkeeper Domingos Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Afonso Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Domingos Gonçalves came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Santorum's Afonso Jesus. But to his dismay, Afonso Jesus quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Afonso Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 75th minute, José Paiva hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alfredo Valente during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sebastião Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Lisboa having to interfere. The Marcoes supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Santorum's performance. The match ended with a win for Santorum.
