To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tiago Coimbra's late challenge caught a SC Celorico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago Coimbra helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SC Chan getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Tiago Coimbra hit a great ball. In the 14th minute, Filipe Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 15 played minutes SC Celorico got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Mendes. Jorge Paredes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristóvão Mendes, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Gaspar Maia hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 25thth minute of the game Álvaro Valente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Chan's Jorge Paredes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Cristóvão Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the SC Celorico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristóvão Mendes couldn't finish the play. Xavier Lima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Nogueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Xavier Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bernardo Nogueira in the 32nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Chan's Bernardo Nogueira slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Xavier Lima. That made the score 1-0 after 35 minutes of play. In the 48th minute, Gaspar Maia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Paredes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Cristóvão Mendes made the kick off in the second half. Álvaro Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Chan's goalkeeper Jorge Paredes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SC Celorico's Jorge Faro couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Chan. In the 81st minute, Cristóvão Mendes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Celorico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Rodrigo Matos struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Xavier Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Chan. In the 89th minute Bernardo Nogueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xavier Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Álvaro Valente fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Paredes having to interfere. A collision led to SC Chan getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Xavier Pinho hit a great ball. 96 minutes into the match, SC Celorico's Jorge Faro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The SC Celorico supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Celorico would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
