When Abel Leão came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Pedrulheira FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abel Leão couldn't finish the play. Joaquim Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Afonso Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute the ball was on its way in behind Codeceda FC's goalkeeper Afonso Sousa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 13 minutes into the match, Abel Leão notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Codeceda FC's Afonso Sousa. Afonso Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. José Reis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 16th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for João Baptista. Pedrulheira FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 17th match minute, Codeceda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joaquim Melo to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the match, Codeceda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Leão came free, but Afonso Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mário Coelho in the 24th minute of play forced Pedrulheira FC's goalkeeper João Baptista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco Coelho's late challenge caught a Pedrulheira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vasco Coelho helped the player get up and apologised. Vasco Coelho hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Joaquim Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Abel Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Leão in the 34th minute of play forced Codeceda FC's goalkeeper Afonso Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco Coelho was shown his second yellow card after 41 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Pedrulheira FC booed when Codeceda FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vasco Coelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Joaquim Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pedrulheira FC's Joaquim Pires got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abel Leão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mário Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. Joaquim Pires sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Pires might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Sousa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joaquim Pires ran back to his position shaking his head. Afonso Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Pires in the 58th minute of the match. Joaquim Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Sousa having to interfere. Abel Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gonçalo Domingues during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes Codeceda FC got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Domingues. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Leão in the 65th minute of play forced Codeceda FC's goalkeeper Afonso Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute of the game, Codeceda FC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. After recieving a nice pass, Codeceda FC's Alexandre Leite tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. The supporters of Codeceda FC booed when Pedrulheira FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrulheira FC's João Baptista proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Pedrulheira FC from getting a goal against them. Cristóvão Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. João Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rui Pereira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cristóvão Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. João Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Vítor Assis struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Afonso Sousa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pedrulheira FC. If Joaquim Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
