Brejoal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cláudio Soares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cláudio Soares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Garcia having to make a save. After 17 played minutes Viegas got a freekick which was hit by João Leão. 18 minutes into the game, Brejoal's Cláudio Soares nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luís Garcia made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 22 minutes into the match, Viegas's goal looked a bit too open when Afonso Ferreira came free, but Luís Garcia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cláudio Soares who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Luís Garcia when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 38th minute, João Leão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 40 played minutes Brejoal got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Sá. In the 42nd minute of the match, Afonso Ferreira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Luís Garcia saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 43 minutes into the match, Viegas's goalkeeper Luís Garcia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cláudio Soares. Augusto Moutinho succeeded in the game's 45th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Moutinho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Brejoal's Cláudio Soares in the 51st minute got a chance for a shot 51st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Viegas's goalie prevented a goal. When Cláudio Soares came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Brejoal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cláudio Soares couldn't finish the play. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Brejoal's goalkeeper Nuno Dias, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eduardo Vieiras short, quick shot in the 69thth minute got Nuno Dias to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Eduardo Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Augusto Moutinho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Nuno Dias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brejoal's Afonso Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Afonso Ferreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Garcia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afonso Ferreira ran back to his position shaking his head. Cláudio Soares took the ball and in the 81 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luís Garcia. Luís Garcia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Cláudio Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cláudio Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Luís Garcia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viegas's Eduardo Vieira got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nuno Dias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Moutinho in the 93rd minute of the match. Cláudio Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Viegas players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
