The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Arroia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Arroia's Augusto Garcia got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nuno Campos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 22 minutes, Carlos Borba made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Arroia's Alexandre Anjos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Arroia's zone, Carlos Borba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Anjos came out of the goal and Carlos Borba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Diamantino Campos hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Joaquim Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Arroia getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Filipe Aleixo hit a great ball. Carlos Borba scored 0-2 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alexandre Anjos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nuno Campos was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 45th minute. Arroia's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The Arroia players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Azueira FC were winning 0-2.

When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Joaquim Vieira took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Alexandre Anjos to make any attempt to save it. Bruno Lopes's late challenge caught a Arroia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Catarino Jesus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Campos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Augusto Garcia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82nd minute, Nuno Campos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Carlos Borba could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Alexandre Anjos however easily saved by the left post. The Azueira FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Azueira FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
