Eusébio Matias hit a great ball. Mário Monteiro was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 12th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. José Barbosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marco Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Barbosa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Faceira's Marco Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. José Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Costa in the 21st minute of play. Marco Costa scored 1-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of José Barbosa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mário Britos short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got José Barbosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Ricardo Veiga took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugo Cabral. Hugo Cabral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mário Brito couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marco Costa to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Alberto Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Veiga charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ricardo Veiga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 93 minutes into the match, Talharezes's goal looked a bit too open when Mário Brito came free, but José Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
