Catarino Jesus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Moura in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Talharezes's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Carlos Borba fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Joaquim Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Borba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Joaquim Vieira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azueira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquim Vieira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Barbosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 15 minutes into the match, Talharezes's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Vieira came free, but José Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Castro kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Carlos Borba struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. José Barbosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Azueira FC. Talharezes's José Barbosa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joaquim Vieira in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Azueira FC booed when Talharezes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Borba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Barbosa having to interfere. In the 39th minute Joaquim Vieira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Barbosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 45th minute of the match, Joaquim Vieira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Barbosa saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joaquim Vieira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Ricardo Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Catarino Jesus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Veiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, Alberto Moura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alberto Moura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Azueira FC's Joaquim Vieira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Barbosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
