Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Augusto Freitas started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Fernando Soares hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Fernando Soares charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Soares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, Mercador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernando Soares to maneuver through the defense. Xavier Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Franzilhal booed when Mercador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernando Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xavier Gomes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Heitor Macedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Viriato Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mercador's Augusto Freitas got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Leiria during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 27 played minutes Mercador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Leiria. Heitor Macedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Gomes in the 32nd minute of the match. When António Delgado came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Mercador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Delgado couldn't finish the play. When Raul Queirós fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Franzilhal's protests and gave Raul Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Xavier Gomes made the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Augusto Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mercador's supporters rose to their feet, but Augusto Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Macedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Franzilhal defense, António Delgado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Macedo. The Franzilhal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Macedo should have stopped the shot. Viriato Bessa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Heitor Macedo made a huge save. After 74 minutes, Filipe Cardoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Franzilhal and the Mercador players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Franzilhal fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! In the last second Heitor Macedo throw himself and got hold of the ball when Xavier Gomes in the 78thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a rather tough play, Mercador's Jorge Correia got a free kick in the 81st minute. When the match had gone on for 87 minutes, Xavier Gomes took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Heitor Macedo to make any attempt to save it. Viriato Bessa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 95th minute Augusto Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Macedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mercador fans cheered their team off the field, for while Franzilhal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
