The wind increased when Bento Leão made the kick off in the second half. Vasco Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bento Leão in the 51st minute of play. If Basílio Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th of the match, Bento Leão tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Vasco Simões got in the way and made a wonderful save. In the 70th minute, Fernando Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Gil Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Viegas was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game.
