Bregieira's Vasco Simões played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Amaro in the 14th minute of play. If Cristiano Amaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gil Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Joaquim Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Bregieira booed when SC Loreto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Araújo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Adelino Faro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cristiano Amaro made a kick off. In the 54th minute SC Loreto were awarded a corner. Afonso Gomes went to the cornerflag to take it. After 58 played minutes SC Loreto got a freekick which was hit by André Torres. After recieving a nice pass, Bregieira's Joaquim Silva tried to score from far away in the 59th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Vasco Simões showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Faro in the 62nd minute of the match. Gil Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Joaquim Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernando Soares might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquim Simões. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adelino Faro in the 73rd minute of play forced Bregieira's goalkeeper Vasco Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Lima charged in rather forcefully in the 74th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Lima the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Humberto Lima kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Humberto Lima was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Bregieira's Humberto Lima got a free kick in the 78th minute. The supporters of SC Loreto booed when Bregieira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. SC Loreto were awarded a corner in the 86th minute after Bregieira's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Afonso Gomes took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Afonso Gomes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vasco Simões quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Fernando Soares came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Bregieira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Soares couldn't finish the play. Bregieira's Fernando Soares got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 92 played minutes SC Loreto got a freekick which was hit by Rui Martins. 97 minutes into the game, Cristiano Amaro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Vasco Simões was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
