An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Neto in the 11th minute of play forced SC Morgado's goalkeeper Henrique Figueiredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emanuel Silva took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 17th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Henrique Figueiredo. SC Morgado's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Rui Faria had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo Rocha. SC Juncal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rui Faria was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rui Faria's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Rocha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Rui Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armindo Morais to make the kick off. Rui Faria scored 0-2 in the 52nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paulo Rocha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The SC Morgado supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Morgado would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
