Paulo Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eusébio Moura in the 15th minute of the match. A collision led to SC Juncal getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. António Cunha hit a great ball. Bernardo Delgado's late challenge caught a SC Juncal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bernardo Delgado helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, Eusébio Moura reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Paulo Rocha. The goal made the score 1-1. If António Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When SC Juncal's Armando Neto in 62 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Lourenço Magalhães guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Rui Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. António Veiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. António Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Veiga in the 77th minute of play forced Melhorada's goalkeeper Lourenço Magalhães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Rocha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernardo Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Lourenço Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When António Cunha fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Juncal's protests and gave António Cunha a yellow card for diving instead. Armando Neto charged in rather forcefully in the 83rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Armando Neto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Armando Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute, António Veiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lourenço Magalhães was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. António Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SC Juncal fans cheered their team off the field, for while Melhorada had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
