José Luz's late challenge caught a Laveiras FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Luz helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th minute, José Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Eusébio Ferro, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 12 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gabriel Leal was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Gabriel Leal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Assis in the 15th minute of play. After having played for 20 minutes, Rui Coimbra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portuzelo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Coimbra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eusébio Ferro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Leal having to interfere. Domingos Luz made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Américo Ferro sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Portuzelo FC booed when Laveiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Tavares didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Coimbra in the 47th minute of play forced Laveiras FC's goalkeeper Domingos Luz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eusébio Ferro was the one to do the kick off. Armando Assis came free with the goalkeeper in the 53rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gabriel Leal could save by the left post. In the 54th minute, Eusébio Ferro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Gabriel Leal. The goal made the score 0-1. Armando Assis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Gabriel Leal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Luz got his second yellow card in the match during the 66th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 67 played minutes Portuzelo FC got a freekick which was hit by José Luz. When Laveiras FC's Eusébio Ferro in the 68th minute got a chance for a shot 68th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Eusébio Ferro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gabriel Leal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. Armando Assis in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gabriel Leal, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Américo Ferro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Trindade kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Domingos Luz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Américo Ferro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Laveiras FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Laveiras FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
