A hard shot by Álvaro Ferro from long distance, 4 minutes into the match, got Catarino Nogueira's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 4th minute of the match, Jorge Matias sent away a good long shot that could have become a goal, but Catarino Nogueira showed an example of his skillful tending and made the save just under the crossbar. After 5 minutes, Afonso Reis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boligueira FC and the SC Cumeira players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 5 played minutes Boligueira FC got a freekick which was hit by Afonso Reis. Catarino Nogueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rui Viegas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sérgio Ramos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the game, Boligueira FC's Pedro Moniz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oliveira Faro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Gomes in the 28th minute of play forced SC Cumeira's goalkeeper Oliveira Faro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 33rd play minutes Jorge Matias shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Catarino Nogueira and just under the crossbar into goal. Cristiano Reis kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. Catarino Nogueira made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Jorge Matias sent off a good shot on target. Afonso Reis was shown his second yellow card after 46 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Catarino Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Matias in the 53rd minute of play. When Jorge Matias came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the SC Cumeira fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Matias couldn't finish the play. 57 minutes into the match, SC Cumeira's Jorge Matias sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Catarino Nogueira narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Catarino Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rui Viegas in the 61st minute of play. A collision led to Boligueira FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Sérgio Ramos hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rui Viegas in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Catarino Nogueira saved Boligueira FC from getting behind. In the 70th minute of the match Delfim Pedroso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Catarino Nogueira showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, SC Cumeira's Álvaro Ferro got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute, António Gomes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Henrique Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Catarino Nogueira having to interfere. After having played for 81 minutes, Rui Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Cumeira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Viegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Boligueira FC's Joel Martins got a free kick in the 83rd minute. António Gomes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute.
