Luís Assunção kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Faro in the 12th minute of play forced Orbida FC's goalkeeper Afonso Queirós to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, Orbida FC's goalkeeper Afonso Queirós had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paulo Abreu. Orbida FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Cruz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 46 minutes into the match, Pondras's goal looked a bit too open when João Pinho came free, but Artur Viegas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Orbida FC's Afonso Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Resende in the 55th minute of play. After 65 minutes, Carlos Faro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pondras and the Orbida FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pondras's Carlos Faro got a free kick in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the match, Orbida FC's Carlos Coelho broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Pondras's Paulo Abreu got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Artur Viegas was a little too slow when Eduardo Cruz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Afonso Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulo Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Paulo Abreu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Queirós having to interfere. If Jaime Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95thth minute of the game Jaime Resende who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Orbida FC's Afonso Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pondras had won after a very even match.
