The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Assentiz. SC Assentiz's Lúcio Ferro got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manuel Maia struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Amadeu Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cancinos. After a defensive mix-up in SC Assentiz's zone, Afonso Matos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amadeu Almeida came out of the goal and Afonso Matos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Assentiz's goalkeeper Amadeu Almeida, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Manuel Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Matos in the 23rd minute of play forced SC Assentiz's goalkeeper Amadeu Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
