SC Parada's Pedro Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Castro in the 17th minute of play. If Adelino Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute António Domingues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 24 minutes, Manuel Mendes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Barco and the SC Parada players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes SC Barco got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Mendes. Duarte Veiga took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 28th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Carvalho. SC Parada's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
