In the 12th minute, Henrique Guarda sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Estrumil's Joel Cardoso didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Ferreira in the 22nd minute of play forced Estrumil's goalkeeper Joel Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Pacheco struck a weak shot in the 27th minute. Hélder Faria didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Estrumil. Lourenço Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. A hard shot 33 in the game by Lúcio Vaz from a close distance when the talented Hélder Faria managed to make a qualified save. SC Cerdeira's players were relieved. Lourenço Sousa's late challenge caught a Estrumil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. When Estrumil's Rafael Pacheco in 35 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Hélder Faria guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. After 41 minutes of play, SC Cerdeira's Eusébio Ferreira made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joel Cardoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Lúcio Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Álvaro Alves was the one to do the kick off. Hélder Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Pacheco in the 53rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eusébio Ferreira got free with Joel Cardoso in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpected shot in the 64th minute by Álvaro Alves got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Lúcio Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When José Almeida fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Estrumil's protests and gave José Almeida a yellow card for diving instead. José Almeida hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 71stth minute of the game Lúcio Vaz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Cerdeira's Hélder Faria was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Estrumil were furious when Ricardo Resende was red carded, 73 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Henrique Guarda shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Eusébio Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Joel Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eusébio Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90thth minute of the game Álvaro Alves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Estrumil's Joel Cardoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 96th match minute, SC Cerdeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Tavares to maneuver through the defense. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
