If Rodrigo Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

After 75 played minutes, Esposada FC's Vicente Martins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Armindo Araújo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esposada FC reached it. Torroes FC's Armindo Araújo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Teixeira in the 78th minute of play. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Armindo Araújo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 89th minute, Esposada FC's José Teixeira dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-1. Armindo Araújo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The Esposada FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Esposada FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
