After a defensive mix-up in Urgal's zone, Cláudio Pires stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Barros came out of the goal and Cláudio Pires tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Marques having to interfere. Rui Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cláudio Pires in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute, Luís Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Rui Barros made a huge save. Ricardo Lima struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Simão Marques didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Urgal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ricardo Lima to strike the kick off in the second half. Cláudio Pires struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Rui Barros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Romeu FC. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Neves in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rui Barros prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cláudio Pires in the 63rd minute of play forced Urgal's goalkeeper Rui Barros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Bruno Resende hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 69 played minutes Urgal got a freekick which was hit by Raul Leal. Rui Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cláudio Pires in the 71st minute of the match. 73 minutes into the game, Romeu FC's Cláudio Pires nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rui Barros made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Romeu FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gabriel Marques in the 79th minute. Albertino Macedo tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Rui Barros. An unnecessary self made goal, 2-0 in the 80th minute. After 83 played minutes Romeu FC got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Santos. 89 minutes into the match, Romeu FC's Pedro Neves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rui Barros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rui Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Neves in the 90th minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Urgal's goal looked a bit too open when Cláudio Pires came free, but Rui Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Urgal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
