Mariano Barbosa took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Carlos Jesus. Carlos Jesus dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 9 minutes of play, Aboboda's Rogério Garcia made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Jesus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Simão Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Borba in the 14th minute of the match. After 15 minutes, Eusébio Pereira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Aboboda and the SC Castanhal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Simão Queirós was a little too slow when Joel Borba got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-2. 18 minutes into the game, Francisco Costa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Simão Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Jesus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rogério Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariano Barbosa in the 28th minute of play forced SC Castanhal's goalkeeper Carlos Jesus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Castanhal's Carlos Jesus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rogério Garcia in the 30th minute of play. Joel Borba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Eusébio Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Castanhal's Diamantino Garcia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Simão Queirós in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Barbosa to make the kick off. Francisco Costa scored 4-2 in the 51st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Simão Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th minute Joel Borba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Simão Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rogério Gonçalves charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. If Joel Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 72 minutes, Mariano Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aboboda's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mariano Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 minutes of play, SC Castanhal's Joel Borba made it 6-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simão Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! SC Castanhal's Joel Borba got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 79 played minutes Aboboda got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Gomes. A collision led to Aboboda getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Eduardo Gomes hit a great ball. In the 83rd match minute, SC Castanhal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Pires to maneuver through the defense. Simão Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Costa in the 89th minute of the match. If Joel Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rogério Garcia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. SC Castanhal had won after a very even match.
