The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marco Viegas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Azinheiro FC booed when Moruja was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oliveira Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If José Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albertino Tavares in the 26th minute of play forced Moruja's goalkeeper Marco Viegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. David Paiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Basílio Borges in the 35th minute of the match. Basílio Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Azinheiro FC's José Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 minutes, Oliveira Teixeira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Moruja and the Azinheiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Moruja getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Oliveira Teixeira hit a great ball. Albertino Tavares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Marco Viegas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Basílio Borges made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute of the match Eduardo Viana sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but David Paiva skillfully saved the ball. Basílio Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Azinheiro FC's David Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Azinheiro FC from getting a goal against them. Basílio Borges struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. David Paiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Moruja. Oliveira Lisboa charged in rather forcefully in the 80th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Oliveira Lisboa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Basílio Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 84 in the game by Sebastião Mota from a close distance when the talented David Paiva managed to make a qualified save. Azinheiro FC's players were relieved. After a defensive mix-up in Azinheiro FC's zone, Sebastião Mota stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Paiva came out of the goal and Sebastião Mota tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marco Viegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Almeida in the 87th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Azinheiro FC's Sebastião Castro got a free kick in the 97th minute. 98 minutes into the match, Moruja's Xavier Gomes broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Moruja had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
