Heitor Assis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Assis having to interfere. Paulo Maia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Assunção, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Domingos Anjos hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Paulo Maia stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Júlio Dias's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Saimes FC's zone, Heitor Assis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gil Assis came out of the goal and Heitor Assis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the match, Saimes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Heitor Assis came free, but Gil Assis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrique Assunção in the 44th minute of play forced Cadorcas FC's goalkeeper Paulo Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Heitor Assis got free with Gil Assis in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

The wind increased when Júlio Leite made the kick off in the second half. Domingos Anjos kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Domingos Anjos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Gil Assis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Saimes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Pinheiro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heitor Assis in the 66th minute of play forced Saimes FC's goalkeeper Gil Assis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind Saimes FC's goalkeeper Gil Assis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Saimes FC's Gil Assis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Júlio Leite in the 79th minute of play. 79 minutes into the game, Eusébio Aleixo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Saimes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cadorcas FC the free kick. The supporters of Cadorcas FC booed when Saimes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Aleixo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the match, Cadorcas FC's goalkeeper Paulo Maia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Henrique Assunção. If Júlio Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Saimes FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Saimes FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
