The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Miguel Oliveira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Inácio Lisboa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Paulo Delgado. That made the score 1-1 in the 24 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Nuno Nogueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Oliveira was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Joaquim Melo scored 1-2 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Miguel Oliveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

In the 74th minute, Diamantino Neves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Cacela's Joaquim Melo got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 82 minutes into the game, Rui Azevedo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Cacela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Segirem FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, SC Cacela's Rui Azevedo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. When Paulo Faro fell near the penalty area in the 86th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Segirem FC's protests and gave Paulo Faro a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Nogueira in the 88th minute of play forced Segirem FC's goalkeeper Miguel Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The goalkeeper, Miguel Oliveira, was totally fooled by SC Cacela's Henrique Marques, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. In the 98th match minute, SC Cacela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Marques to maneuver through the defense. Albertino Carneiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal.
