José Guarda's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nuno Gueifão read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Violeiro's zone, Paulo Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Reis came out of the goal and Paulo Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, SC Violeiro's António Reis got control of the ball when Rafael Aguiar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Bragada FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Guarda came free, but Nuno Gueifão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Araújo was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Guarda couldn't finish the play. Bragada FC's Nuno Gueifão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Bragada FC from getting a goal against them. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Violeiro players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bragada FC.
