The supporters of Ameixial booed when Espinhaco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Gomes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Emílio Viana acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 15th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Cláudio Soares. 16 minutes into the match, Espinhaco FC's goalkeeper Emílio Viana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Afonso Jesus. Espinhaco FC's Emílio Viana proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Espinhaco FC from getting a goal against them. 23 minutes into the match, Jorge Valente notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ameixial's Cristóvão Ferreira. Cristóvão Ferreira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Jorge Monteiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristóvão Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorge Valente in the 32nd minute of play. Jorge Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jacinto Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 47 minutes into the match, Ameixial's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Valente came free, but Cristóvão Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emílio Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Trindade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jacinto Trindade in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emílio Viana prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 57 minutes into the match, Jacinto Trindade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Emílio Viana. Espinhaco FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jacinto Trindade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. After 60 played minutes Ameixial got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Gomes. António Vaz kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Jorge Valente might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristóvão Ferreira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jorge Valente ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Ameixial booed when Espinhaco FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Jesus, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Joaquim Faro kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Paulo Gomes's late challenge caught a Espinhaco FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Gomes helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 played minutes Ameixial got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Gomes. Diamantino Gomes was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 84th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After having played for 86 minutes, Jorge Valente managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Espinhaco FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorge Valente was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 87th match minute, Ameixial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo Gomes to maneuver through the defense. Jorge Monteiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóvão Ferreira having to interfere. Cristóvão Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Valente in the 94th minute of the match. When Jorge Valente came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Espinhaco FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Valente couldn't finish the play. Ameixial's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
