Jorge Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute, Cristóvão Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Américo Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Simão Marques having to interfere. 26 minutes into the game, Alberto Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costilhao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Gamas the free kick. After 26 played minutes Costilhao got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Nogueira. Filipe Andrade's late challenge caught a Costilhao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Filipe Andrade helped the player get up and apologised. Jorge Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Freitas having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Costilhao's Rafael Correia got a free kick in the 35th minute. 36 minutes into the match, Basílio Brás sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Simão Marques threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Basílio Brás this time. Xavier Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Tavares in the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jorge Alves to make the kick off. A collision led to SC Gamas getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Basílio Brás hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Alves in the 57th minute of play forced SC Gamas's goalkeeper Xavier Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xavier Freitas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Tavares in the 58th minute of the match. After 69 minutes of play Costilhao's Cristóvão Leite was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Castro in the 73rd minute of play forced Costilhao's goalkeeper Simão Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xavier Freitas was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from António Setúbal. The supporters of SC Gamas booed when Costilhao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomás Martins didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 minutes of play, Costilhao's Jorge Alves made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xavier Freitas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Emílio Tavares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Freitas having to interfere. Xavier Freitas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emílio Tavares in the 93rd minute. Emílio Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Costilhao could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SC Gamas throughout the match.
