Abel Freitas started the match with the kick off. Vítor Leiria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Vaz having to interfere. In the 10th match minute, Laje FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Humberto Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Cardoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedro Guerreiro in the 15th minute of the match. Humberto Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 17 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Laje FC's Abel Freitas fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Inácio Nogueira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without João Cardoso having to make a save. If Vítor Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Moreira was shown his second yellow card after 25 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 26th minute, Rui Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vermelhos's Inácio Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Inácio Nogueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Inácio Nogueira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Cardoso having to interfere. Vítor Leiria scored 0-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Humberto Vaz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Laje FC's João Cardoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Nogueira in the 47th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Inácio Nogueira made a kick off. The supporters of Vermelhos booed when Laje FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nuno Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Pedro Guerreiro in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck João Cardoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 53rd minute, Abel Freitas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Guerreiro in the 58th minute of play forced Laje FC's goalkeeper João Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abel Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute.
