The supporters of SC Covancas booed when Lagarinhos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaime Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 18th minute of the match Joaquim Costa shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alberto Leite showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Emílio Faro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alberto Leite having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Tiago Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Covancas's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alberto Leite breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emílio Faro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Alberto Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Emílio Faro came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the SC Covancas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emílio Faro couldn't finish the play. In the 28th minute Adelino Faro suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 28 minutes of play Lagarinhos's Artur Vieira was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 29th match minute, Lagarinhos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Vieira to maneuver through the defense. António Amaro was out of position in the 35 minute of play, and Jaime Moutinho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jaime Moutinho really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Alberto Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emílio Faro in the 40th minute of the match. Alexandre Leiria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. António Amaro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The wind increased when Emílio Faro made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Alexandre Leiria's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but António Amaro was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. António Amaro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Leiria in the 54th minute of play. Emílio Faro scored 1-2 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Leite, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alexandre Leiria struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. António Amaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lagarinhos. Xavier Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. António Amaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 97th minute Alexandre Leiria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Amaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. SC Covancas had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
