Spectators: 33 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tiago Gaspar took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute Vítor Leiria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but António Amaro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Gaspar in the 6th minute of play forced Laje FC's goalkeeper João Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of SC Covancas booed when Laje FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiago Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Cardoso having to interfere. In the 13thth minute of the game Vítor Leiria who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Covancas's António Amaro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Vítor Leiria ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. António Amaro was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emílio Faro in the 18th minute of play forced Laje FC's goalkeeper João Cardoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vítor Leiria struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. António Amaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laje FC. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Vítor Leiria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Laje FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Vítor Leiria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Amaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Adelino Faro's late challenge caught a Laje FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adelino Faro helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Covancas's Adelino Faro got a free kick in the 24th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Freitas in the 27th minute of play forced SC Covancas's goalkeeper António Amaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. António Amaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vítor Leiria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Freitas struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. António Amaro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laje FC. In the 38th match minute, Laje FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Bessa to maneuver through the defense. João Cardoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago Gaspar's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Emílio Faro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but João Cardoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Laje FC's Eduardo Bessa got a free kick in the 46th minute. Tiago Gaspar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. João Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
