Cumieira FC's João Nunes got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 20 played minutes Bolas FC got a freekick which was hit by Emílio Rocha. The supporters of Cumieira FC booed when Bolas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lúcio Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bolas FC's Jaime Freitas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Nunes in the 39th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Sebastião Ferreira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cumieira FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Amorim was the one to do the kick off. Tomás Brito dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Amorim in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tomás Brito prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jaime Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Nunes in the 81st minute of play. If João Nunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers João Nunes in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jaime Freitas saved Bolas FC from getting behind. If Sebastião Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 91 in the game by Sebastião Ferreira from a close distance when the talented Jaime Freitas managed to make a qualified save. Bolas FC's players were relieved. Tomás Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristiano Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. If Cristiano Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
