Paulo Assis charged in rather forcefully in the 18th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulo Assis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Freixieiro FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Paulo Assis hit a great ball. Amílcar Moniz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. António Matias tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonçalo Castro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. After 28 minutes of play Freixieiro FC's Paulo Assis was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Xavier Matos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Borba in the 32nd minute of the match. If Jorge Borba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Xavier Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jorge Borba, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Amílcar Moniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gonçalo Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xavier Matos having to interfere. Gonçalo Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Freixieiro FC's Xavier Matos got control of the ball when Gonçalo Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hélder Pacheco kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. If Gonçalo Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Manuel Luz's late challenge caught a Leiria FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Manuel Luz helped the player get up and apologised. Manuel Luz hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Emílio Almeida, 80 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Jorge Borba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Xavier Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Heitor Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heitor Martins couldn't finish the play. In the 91st match minute, Leiria FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by António Jesus to maneuver through the defense. Freixieiro FC's Heitor Martins got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Heitor Martins fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Freixieiro FC's protests and gave Heitor Martins a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Freixieiro FC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Heitor Martins hit a great ball. Heitor Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without António Matias having to interfere.
