Delfim Sousa took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Humberto Domingues. Humberto Domingues dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Cernadela FC's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Andrade came free, but Jorge Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of SC Lombinha booed when Cernadela FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Guerreiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eduardo Andrade's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorge Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. Inácio Paiva hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. A collision led to SC Lombinha getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Inácio Paiva hit a great ball. Inácio Paiva's late challenge caught a Cernadela FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Inácio Paiva helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cernadela FC booed when SC Lombinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Paiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Delfim Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cernadela FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Delfim Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute, Delfim Sousa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Humberto Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Inácio Paiva in the 31st minute of play forced Cernadela FC's goalkeeper Jorge Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jorge Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mário Nogueira went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Delfim Sousa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-1 in the 41st playminute. Jorge Guerreiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Domingues having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexandre Brito was the one to do the kick off. Alexandre Brito recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eduardo Andrade in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorge Azevedo saved Cernadela FC from getting behind. Jorge Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Mário Nogueira sent off a good shot on target. Joaquim Mota struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Humberto Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cernadela FC. Humberto Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Brito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 74 played minutes SC Lombinha got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Andrade. Delfim Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Domingues having to interfere. Alexandre Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Humberto Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Humberto Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delfim Sousa, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Alexandre Brito struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Humberto Domingues didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cernadela FC. Alexandre Brito fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Humberto Domingues having to interfere. Humberto Domingues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alexandre Brito's shot from short distance in the 96th minute. Humberto Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Sousa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the SC Lombinha players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cernadela FC.
