The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 28 minutes into the match, Taboeira FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Anjos came free, but Joaquim Esteves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the match, Praya's Simão Macedo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim Esteves narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot by Óscar Queirós from long distance, 48 minutes into the match, got Paulo Pereira's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The audience was convinced that Gaspar Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulo Pereira was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Praya's zone, Gaspar Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. André Alves hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, Praya's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Rodrigues came free, but Paulo Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 78 minutes into the game, Taboeira FC's Joaquim Setúbal nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Praya's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Taboeira FC had won, even though Praya had held more of the ball.
