José Vieira's late challenge caught a Azambujeira FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Vieira helped the player get up and apologised. José Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. If André Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Formariz FC's André Guerreiro got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rui Leão's late challenge caught a Formariz FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Leão helped the player get up and apologised. Rui Leão kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Formariz FC's Luís Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Alves in the 15th minute of play. André Guerreiro succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 17th playminute. José Vieira might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Castro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Vieira ran back to his position shaking his head. José Vieira was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Luís Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Alves in the 29th minute of the match. Carlos Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vieira in the 33rd minute of play. In the 35th minute, José Vieira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Formariz FC's zone, Paulo Alves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Amaral came out of the goal and Paulo Alves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If André Guerreiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 46 minutes into the match, Formariz FC's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Alves came free, but Luís Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. André Guerreiro struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Carlos Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Formariz FC. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Alves was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Azambujeira FC getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Viriato Gueifão hit a great ball. The supporters of Azambujeira FC booed when Formariz FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Azambujeira FC's Lúcio Viegas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Paulo Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alexandre Lima fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Amaral having to interfere. When José Vieira came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Formariz FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Vieira couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Alexandre Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. Azambujeira FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alexandre Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luís Amaral breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luís Amaral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Alves in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Paulo Alves in the 77th minute of play forced Formariz FC's goalkeeper Luís Amaral to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulo Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Amaral having to interfere. After 82 minutes, Alfredo Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formariz FC and the Azambujeira FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Formariz FC getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Alfredo Cruz hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Formariz FC's zone, Alexandre Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Amaral came out of the goal and Alexandre Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Carlos Castro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Cruz in the 88th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Azambujeira FC's goal looked a bit too open when José Vieira came free, but Carlos Castro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 92 minutes of play Azambujeira FC's Rui Leão was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Carlos Castro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Vieira's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. In the 95th minute, Viriato Gueifão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Formariz FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Azambujeira FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
