The supporters of Lobao booed when SC Medonha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filipe Monteiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Lobao's Rui Leite sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Álvaro Pedroso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Filipe Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Bernardo Nogueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the SC Medonha defense, Basílio Andrade kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Álvaro Pedroso. The SC Medonha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Álvaro Pedroso should have stopped the shot. Álvaro Pedroso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Basílio Andrade in the 23rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Lobao's Filipe Viegas got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 35th minute, Bernardo Delgado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bernardo Nogueira made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Bernardo Delgado sent off a good shot on target. Rui Leite recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Medonha's goalkeeper Álvaro Pedroso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Lobao's Rui Leite in the 49th minute got a chance for a shot 49th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Medonha's goalie prevented a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Carlos Teixeira made a kick off. Carlos Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 55 minutes into the match, Bernardo Delgado had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Nogueira. Lobao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernardo Delgado was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After having played for 64 minutes, Filipe Viegas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lobao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Viegas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Álvaro Pedroso made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Rui Leite sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute, Duarte Gonçalves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Lobao's Ricardo Machado in action when he in the 69th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The audience thought a goal was coming when Basílio Andrade got free with Álvaro Pedroso in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Lobao's Basílio Andrade in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Medonha's goalie prevented a goal. Bernardo Delgado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Álvaro Pedroso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lobao. After 84 minutes, Filipe Monteiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Medonha and the Lobao players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SC Medonha getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Filipe Monteiro hit a great ball. Carlos Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. SC Medonha's Carlos Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Medonha's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
