The supporters of Sobrainho FC booed when Gondivai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hugo Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Hugo Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Afonso Lisboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If David Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 17th match minute, Sobrainho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Viana to maneuver through the defense. Simão Moura hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19thth minute of the game Manuel Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gondivai's Afonso Lisboa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 20th match minute, Gondivai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. If Hugo Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Gondivai's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Barbosa came free, but Afonso Lisboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Manuel Barbosa notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Gondivai's Afonso Lisboa. Afonso Lisboa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half Sobrainho FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 53rd minute, David Oliveira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Bento Mota was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. After a rather tough play, Sobrainho FC's Augusto Bessa got a free kick in the 60th minute. João Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Mota having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Sobrainho FC's zone, João Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bento Mota came out of the goal and João Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the game, Gondivai's David Oliveira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bento Mota made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. David Oliveira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bento Mota having to interfere. Domingos Viana hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. David Oliveira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 81st minute Manuel Barbosa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonso Lisboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When David Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Gondivai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Oliveira couldn't finish the play. In the 91st match minute, Sobrainho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domingos Viana to maneuver through the defense. Gondivai's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
