If Jorge Paredes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 15 minutes into the match, Fonduras's goal looked a bit too open when Delfim Teixeira came free, but Domingos Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute Jorge Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Heitor Machado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Heitor Machado stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo Leiria's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. Jorge Paredes struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Heitor Machado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fonduras. In the 26th match minute, Fonduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artur Dantas to maneuver through the defense. Domingos Neves came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by Carcao FC's Delfim Teixeira. But to his dismay, Delfim Teixeira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 31 minutes into the match, Carcao FC's goal looked a bit too open when Bernardo Leiria came free, but Heitor Machado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Carcao FC booed when Fonduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardo Leiria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Delfim Teixeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Domingos Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carcao FC's Cláudio Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Domingos Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Fonduras's João Brás got a free kick in the 45th minute. Cláudio Valente could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Domingos Neves made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Delfim Teixeira made the kick off in the second half. Carcao FC's Heitor Machado proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Carcao FC from getting a goal against them. Carcao FC's Delfim Teixeira got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Domingos Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Teixeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Bernardo Leiria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 77th minute, Domingos Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Domingos Cruz hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. José Trindade was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 82nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cláudio Valente recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Fonduras's goalkeeper Domingos Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jorge Paredes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Heitor Machado having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Carcao FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Fonduras had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
