Pousos's Pedro Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Xavier Ferro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 21st minute, Afonso Amaro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Xavier Ferro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Monteiro went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Oliveira Ferro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Almeida in the 33rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Monteiro in the 34th minute of play forced Espinca FC's goalkeeper Xavier Ferro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 42nd minute, Daniel Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Xavier Almeida to make the kick off. Xavier Ferro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Monteiro in the 52nd minute. Pousos's Oliveira Ferro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Almeida in the 53rd minute of play. Oliveira Ferro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Paiva in the 56th minute of the match. Xavier Ferro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Monteiro in the 59th minute. If Xavier Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee felt a red card was in order, 66 minutes into the game, when Nuno Amorim put in a rough tackle. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Pousos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Espinca FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Pousos's Abel Machado got a free kick in the 75th minute. Xavier Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Oliveira Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute Jacinto Paiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oliveira Ferro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Pousos's Pedro Monteiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xavier Ferro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Espinca FC fans' excitement grew in the 83rd match minute when Espinca FC's Xavier Almeida looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Jacinto Paiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 94 minutes into the match, Pousos's goal looked a bit too open when Xavier Almeida came free, but Oliveira Ferro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, Espinca FC's goalkeeper Xavier Ferro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pedro Monteiro. Pedro Monteiro's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Xavier Ferro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
