The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Botelhas FC booed when SC Coucieiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diamantino Aleixo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Teixeira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In the 25th minute, Nuno Machado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 26th minute of the match Tomás Antunes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo Teixeira skillfully saved the ball. Mário Magalhães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Teixeira having to interfere. With a little luck, Botelhas FC's Pedro Guerreiro got control of the ball when Nuno Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jacinto Pires's late challenge caught a SC Coucieiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jacinto Pires helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of SC Coucieiro booed when Botelhas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. 43 minutes into the match, Amadeu Alves dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedro Guerreiro, 2-1. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amadeu Alves to make the kick off. Amílcar Aleixo kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Nuno Machado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Pedro Guerreiro. Botelhas FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, SC Coucieiro's goalkeeper Paulo Teixeira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mário Magalhães. After a rather tough play, SC Coucieiro's Gonçalo Trindade got a free kick in the 71st minute. Amadeu Alves scored 3-2 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Guerreiro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mário Magalhães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Guerreiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Abreu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Diamantino Aleixo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 90th minute, Nuno Abreu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amadeu Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Pedro Guerreiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
