Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 5 minutes, Albertino Assunção managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gontim FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertino Assunção was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, António Henriques managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gontim FC's supporters rose to their feet, but António Henriques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião Oliveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gontim FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 13th minute. Penalty! Gontim FC:s Luís Borba showed great skill when he stopped Adolfo Soares:s penalty. Luís Borba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by António Henriques in the 18th minute of play forced Giraldos FC's goalkeeper Sebastião Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Carlos Costa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Luís Borba to make any attempt to save it. Sebastião Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. António Cruz scored 1-1 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sebastião Oliveira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Giraldos FC's zone, Joel Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Oliveira came out of the goal and Joel Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 38th minute, António Henriques got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Giraldos FC's zone, António Henriques stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sebastião Oliveira came out of the goal and António Henriques tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xavier Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

If Joel Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 63rd minute, Jorge Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giraldos FC's Sebastião Oliveira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save Giraldos FC from getting a goal against them. Gontim FC's Luís Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pinto in the 67th minute of play. 69 minutes into the game, Xavier Pereira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Luís Borba was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Xavier Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luís Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Costa in the 75th minute of play. Giraldos FC's Carlos Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sebastião Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Henriques in the 84th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Gontim FC's zone, Xavier Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Borba came out of the goal and Xavier Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gontim FC's Luís Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Pinto in the 98th minute of play. Giraldos FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
