After 5 minutes, Joaquim Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corotelo and the Almagre FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After having played for 13 minutes, Luís Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Almagre FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Aleixo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The goalkeeper, Alexandre Lisboa, was totally fooled by Corotelo's Bernardo Alves, who 21 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Emanuel Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Alexandre Lisboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 25th minute, Fernando Santarém hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 27 minutes into the match, Emanuel Pires dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alexandre Lisboa, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Pires during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 played minutes Corotelo got a freekick which was hit by Emanuel Pires. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Luís Aleixo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almagre FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Aleixo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nuno Setúbal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jacinto Santos lost his temper 61 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Fábio Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Alexandre Lisboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gonçalo Guerreiro was shown his second yellow card after 72 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. There was no doubt that Corotelo were the better team. Corotelo's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
