Gabriel Abreu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rui Carvalho in the 3rd minute of the match. André Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 7 minutes, the score became 0-1 when André Castro sped through Airo's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of André Moreira. The supporters of SC Gontinhais booed when Airo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Fernandes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 12 minutes, José Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Gontinhais's supporters crossed their fingers, but José Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 14th minute, José Viana got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gabriel Abreu was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Viriato Baptista. José Viana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rui Carvalho in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gabriel Abreu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 43 minutes, André Castro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Gontinhais's supporters crossed their fingers, but André Castro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Carvalho made a kick off. Rui Carvalho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Heitor Leal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Gabriel Abreu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rui Carvalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Heitor Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Castro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Moreira having to interfere. If André Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the SC Gontinhais defense, Rui Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gabriel Abreu. The SC Gontinhais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gabriel Abreu should have stopped the shot. João Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. André Moreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Heitor Leal came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Airo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Heitor Leal couldn't finish the play. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Airo fans cheered their team off the field, for while SC Gontinhais had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
