The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rui Santos came out of the goal and Hélder Bessa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Delfim Morais kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute of the match Filipe Machado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rui Santos skillfully saved the ball. When the match clock showed 32 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Hélder Bessa sped through Casares FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rui Santos. 36 minutes into the match, Foupana's goalkeeper Amadeu Oliveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Figueiredo. After having played for 47 minutes, Gustavo Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Casares FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustavo Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Foupana were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hélder Bessa was the one to do the kick off. If Rui Porto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 62 minutes into the match, Casares FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hélder Bessa came free, but Rui Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Casares FC's zone, Rui Porto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rui Santos came out of the goal and Rui Porto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Rui Porto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Foupana's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Porto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rui Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Casares FC's Rui Santos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Casares FC from getting a goal against them. If Hélder Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gustavo Figueiredo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amadeu Oliveira having to make a save. Ricardo Coelho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Oliveira having to interfere. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
