Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rodrigo Moniz made the kick off which started today's match. In the 7th minute Jorge Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Américo Gaspar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Gigante's Américo Gaspar got control of the ball when Júlio Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Américo Gaspar was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Pedro Leal. Rogério Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo Moniz in the 24th minute of play. After having played for 25 minutes, David Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gigante's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Moniz in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rogério Lopes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rodrigo Moniz in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Lopes saved Sandelgas from getting behind. After 30 minutes Sandelgas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Jorge Macedo who took care of the corner kick. David Queirós's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Lopes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. When Jorge Almeida came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Sandelgas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jorge Almeida couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Júlio Luz during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Júlio Luz kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Almeida made a kick off. After 53 played minutes, Gigante's Jorge Macedo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rogério Lopes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gigante reached it. The supporters of Gigante booed when Sandelgas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Júlio Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandelgas's supporters rose to their feet, but Júlio Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Américo Gaspar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Jorge Almeida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Américo Gaspar was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. Rodrigo Moniz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rogério Lopes having to interfere. David Paredes kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodrigo Moniz in the 89th minute of play forced Sandelgas's goalkeeper Rogério Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 91st minute Rodrigo Moniz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gigante's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
