Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Galo's Basílio Moutinho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Basílio Moutinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Júlio Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Leão having to interfere. Jorge Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Almeida in the 18th minute of the match. Despite this Jorge Leão quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Sandelgas booed when SC Galo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adelino Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute, Sandelgas got a penalty, and Simão Melo placed the ball unsaveable into goal, by the right post. When Ricardo Brito fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sandelgas's protests and gave Ricardo Brito a yellow card for diving instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jorge Almeida to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the SC Galo defense, Jorge Almeida kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jorge Leão. The SC Galo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorge Leão should have stopped the shot. Vicente Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. In the 89th minute, Júlio Neto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 94th minute Júlio Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sandelgas had won after a very even match.
